Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and standards to ensure high-quality data across Risk Management and Compliance functions at JP Morgan Chase
  • Lead data quality assessments and remediation efforts, identifying risks in data sourcing, processing, and reporting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models in alignment with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the creation of data risk frameworks, including monitoring for data privacy, accuracy, and completeness in financial reporting
  • Drive the adoption of data governance tools and technologies to enhance compliance with internal and external standards
  • Conduct regular audits and gap analyses to mitigate data-related risks in trading, lending, and investment banking operations
  • Partner with technology teams to integrate data governance into JP Morgan's enterprise data platforms
  • Provide expert guidance on data ethics and compliance issues, ensuring adherence to global banking regulations
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of data accountability within the Chief Data Office

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality management, or risk management within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record in implementing data governance frameworks in a large-scale banking environment
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, Basel III, and CCAR for data management and compliance
  • Experience with data quality tools and methodologies, including data profiling, cleansing, and metadata management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in data risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in data governance (e.g., CDMP) or risk management (e.g., CRISC)
  • Experience working in a Chief Data Office or similar function at a global financial institution
