Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and underwrite multifamily commercial real estate loan requests, assessing creditworthiness and risk exposure
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on borrower financials, property valuations, and market conditions
  • Develop and present credit recommendations to senior management and credit committees
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios for early warning signs of credit deterioration
  • Collaborate with origination teams, legal, and compliance to ensure adherence to lending policies
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools to model cash flows, stress test scenarios, and calculate risk metrics
  • Support the integration of ESG factors into credit risk assessments for sustainable lending
  • Contribute to the development of credit risk policies and procedures within the team
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory audits and internal reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit risk analysis, commercial real estate lending, or multifamily housing finance
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate markets, particularly multifamily properties
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, underwriting, and credit assessment methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and CRE lending guidelines
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA)
  • Experience working in a large financial institution with a focus on commercial banking
