Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the credit underwriting and approval process for complex transactions in specialized industries, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's risk appetite
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cash flow modeling, ratio analysis, and scenario testing for corporate clients
  • Mentor and develop a team of credit officers, providing guidance on best practices in risk assessment
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, investment bankers, and other stakeholders to structure deals that mitigate credit risks
  • Monitor ongoing credit portfolios, identifying early warning signs of deterioration and recommending remedial actions

  • Perform due diligence on potential borrowers, including site visits and industry research
  • Prepare credit memos and presentations for senior management and credit committees

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or Master's) preferred
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in credit risk management, commercial lending, or underwriting within the financial services industry
  • Proven track record in leading credit analysis for specialized industries such as manufacturing, energy, or transportation
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements including Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and OCC guidelines
  • Experience with credit portfolio management and risk assessment tools in a large banking environment
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior credit analysts and officers
  • CFA, CPA, or similar professional certification
