Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on the structuring, documentation, and execution of securitized products transactions, including RMBS, CMBS, and CLOs
  • Advise on commercial real estate financing deals, ensuring compliance with lending standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with investment banking teams to innovate and develop new securitization products at the forefront of the industry
  • Review and negotiate complex legal agreements, such as indentures, servicing agreements, and underwriting commitments
  • Conduct due diligence on collateral assets and assess legal risks in portfolio acquisitions
  • Interact with regulators and respond to inquiries related to JP Morgan Chase's securitized products activities
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support the development of legal strategies for the firm's capital markets division
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting securitized products and implement compliance measures
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution arising from securitization transactions

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the New York State Bar (or eligibility to obtain)
  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience in securitized products, structured finance, or commercial real estate financing, preferably at a major financial institution
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. securities laws, including the Securities Act of 1933, Dodd-Frank Act, and regulations governing asset-backed securities
  • Proven track record advising on complex financial transactions involving mortgage-backed securities, collateralized loan obligations, or commercial mortgage-backed securities
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the financial services industry, including interactions with the SEC, CFTC, and other regulatory bodies
  • Experience managing legal risks in high-stakes deal environments within investment banking or capital markets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a bulge-bracket bank like JP Morgan Chase in the Securitized Products Group
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in sustainable finance and ESG considerations in securitized products
