Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and maintain a robust pipeline of mortgage and home lending clients in the Joliet, IL and Shorewood areas
  • Conduct comprehensive financial consultations to assess client needs and recommend tailored home lending solutions, including conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as underwriters, processors, and branch teams to ensure seamless loan origination and closing processes
  • Drive sales performance by achieving or exceeding monthly and quarterly lending targets while adhering to JP Morgan Chase's risk and compliance standards
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with real estate agents, builders, and community organizations to generate high-quality referrals
  • Stay abreast of market trends, interest rate fluctuations, and regulatory changes to provide expert advice to clients
  • Utilize CRM tools to track client interactions, document loan applications, and report on sales activities
  • Mentor junior lending advisors and contribute to team training on JP Morgan Chase's home lending products
  • Ensure all lending activities comply with fair lending practices and anti-discrimination laws

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage lending, home equity, or consumer lending within the financial services industry
  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license with NMLS registration, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive lending environment
  • Strong understanding of federal and state lending regulations, including Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and RESPA
  • Excellent credit history and ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Proficiency in mortgage origination software and CRM systems used in financial services

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a branch-based or community-focused lending role at a major bank
