Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of target state architecture across payments technology domains, including core processing, settlement, and fraud detection
• Collaborate with business leaders and engineering teams to align architectural decisions with JP Morgan Chase's strategic goals in global payments
• Drive the adoption of modern technologies such as APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud services to enhance payment efficiency and resilience
• Ensure architectural solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal security standards in the financial services industry
• Mentor junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of innovation and best practices within the Payments Technology team
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and proof-of-concept evaluations for emerging payment technologies
• Partner with global stakeholders to integrate payments architectures across regions, optimizing for Singapore's role as a key APAC hub
• Contribute to the roadmap for payments platform modernization, focusing on scalability to handle high-volume transactions
• Identify and mitigate technical debt in legacy payment systems while transitioning to agile, cloud-based environments
• Present architectural strategies to senior leadership, influencing investment decisions in payments infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in payments or financial technology domains
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-level architecture initiatives in a global financial institution
• Deep expertise in designing scalable, secure payment systems compliant with international regulations such as PCI-DSS and ISO 20022
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices in a multi-region environment
• Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional team leadership in high-stakes projects
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Experience with real-time payment systems like SWIFT, RTP, or SEPA
• Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Prior work at a major bank or fintech firm on payments modernization projects
• Knowledge of blockchain or distributed ledger technologies for payments innovation
