Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of the target state architecture for JP Morgan Chase's debit card products across multiple domains including payments, security, and customer experience
• Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to align architecture with strategic business objectives in consumer banking
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, and security of debit card transaction systems
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technology roadmaps to mitigate risks in high-volume financial transactions
• Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies to enhance debit card functionalities, such as contactless payments and real-time fraud prevention
• Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of architectural excellence within the team
• Partner with compliance and risk teams to ensure architectures adhere to financial regulations and industry standards
• Monitor and optimize system performance, focusing on low-latency processing for debit card authorizations and settlements
• Contribute to enterprise-wide architecture governance, influencing decisions that impact Chase's broader payments ecosystem

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years focused on financial services or payments systems
• Proven track record in designing scalable architectures for debit card products or similar transaction processing platforms
• Deep expertise in cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices design principles
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in agile environments within a large financial institution
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in banking, including PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOX
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive architectural decisions in a matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal technology stack or similar enterprise banking systems
• Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect)
