Key Responsibilities

• Lead the SRE team for the Network Product, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of global network infrastructure supporting JP Morgan Chase's financial operations
• Drive automation initiatives using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Python to streamline network deployments and reduce manual interventions
• Implement data-driven reliability practices, including SLO/SLI monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, to proactively identify and mitigate risks in trading and payment systems
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to enforce regulatory standards and enhance network resilience against cyber threats
• Conduct root cause analyses for network incidents, developing post-mortems and preventive measures to maintain 24/7 operational integrity
• Mentor and guide junior SREs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
• Optimize network architectures for scalability, supporting JP Morgan's cloud-hybrid environments and emerging fintech integrations
• Participate in on-call rotations, leading incident response for high-priority network disruptions impacting financial services
• Contribute to strategic planning for network reliability, aligning with JP Morgan's goals for innovation in digital banking and asset management

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, network engineering, or DevOps roles within large-scale financial or technology environments
• Proven track record in leading SRE teams focused on network reliability, with experience in high-stakes, regulated industries like banking
• Deep expertise in network protocols, infrastructure as code, and automation tools, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making
• Experience with incident management, on-call rotations, and ensuring 99.99%+ uptime for mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, SOX, and GDPR in financial services
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across global teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical discipline or MBA with a focus on technology management
• Experience at a major financial institution, particularly in roles involving trading systems or payment networks
• Certifications such as CCIE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google SRE Professional
• Background in agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines tailored to financial applications
• Prior involvement in cloud migrations for hybrid environments in regulated sectors

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and SDN technologies
• Proficiency in automation scripting with Python, Bash, or Go for network orchestration
• Expertise in monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Splunk
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Strong understanding of cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP, with focus on hybrid financial setups
• Incident management and chaos engineering practices to ensure system resilience
• Data analysis skills using SQL, R, or Python for reliability metrics and trend identification
• Security best practices including firewall management, VPNs, and zero-trust architectures
• Leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments
• Problem-solving abilities in high-pressure scenarios, such as real-time trading network failures
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for network services
