Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack applications using React for intuitive user interfaces and Java for robust back-end APIs
• Architect scalable API solutions for the internal API Marketplace, enabling seamless integration across JP Morgan Chase's financial platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and compliance experts to align engineering efforts with business goals in risk management and trading systems
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and DevOps
• Ensure all developed solutions adhere to stringent security standards and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry
• Optimize application performance and scalability to handle high-volume financial transactions and real-time data processing
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies like microservices and containerization for enhancing the API ecosystem
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery
• Contribute to strategic planning for the API Marketplace, identifying opportunities to improve developer productivity and internal tool adoption
• Monitor and report on system health, proactively addressing potential risks in production environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in full-stack development
• Strong proficiency in React.js for front-end development and Java for back-end services
• Experience building and maintaining scalable APIs in a financial services environment
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding engineering teams through complex projects
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance with financial regulations such as GDPR and SOX
• Proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions in agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with API marketplaces or developer platforms in fintech
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure used in banking applications
• Prior work at a large financial institution, ideally with exposure to trading or risk management systems
