Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of cloud-native indexing and search features for JP Morgan Chase's financial platforms
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to define technical requirements for search functionalities in banking applications
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and security standards in financial services
• Implement scalable fullstack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks like React or Angular
• Integrate search capabilities with core banking systems, ensuring low-latency performance for real-time financial queries
• Drive innovation in cloud migration and modernization efforts, leveraging AWS or Azure for resilient infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments, minimizing downtime for critical financial operations
• Contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to deliver value to JP Morgan's global client base
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies in all developed features
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in search and cloud to recommend improvements for JP Morgan's tech stack

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java fullstack development
• Proven expertise in cloud-native technologies, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, with hands-on experience in building scalable applications
• Strong knowledge of indexing and search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene
• Experience in financial services or fintech environments, understanding regulatory compliance like GDPR and PCI-DSS
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in agile environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-impact projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools or similar enterprise banking platforms
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)
• Background in developing search solutions for financial data analytics or risk management
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Prior work on microservices architecture in a high-availability financial systems context
