Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Java-based applications on mainframe platforms to support JP Morgan Chase's core banking operations
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate financial requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering innovation and best practices in software engineering
• Optimize mainframe performance for high-volume transaction processing in trading and risk systems
• Implement security protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the financial industry
• Drive integration of legacy mainframe systems with modern Java microservices architectures
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis
• Contribute to agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to deliver business value
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency
• Partner with global teams in Hyderabad and other locations to align on enterprise-wide initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java and mainframe technologies
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining high-performance applications in a financial services environment
• Strong understanding of mainframe systems including CICS, IMS, and DB2
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines in large-scale enterprise settings
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical challenges under tight deadlines
