Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable Java and Python applications for agency securities finance
• Drive data engineering initiatives, including building robust data pipelines for financial datasets
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex financial requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Optimize application performance and ensure compliance with JP Morgan's security and risk standards
• Integrate multiple technologies and applications to solve diverse business challenges in securities lending
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to minimize downtime in trading environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Java and Python
• Proven experience in data engineering, including ETL processes and data pipeline development
• Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly agency securities and finance operations
• Experience working in agile environments with version control systems like Git
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a global financial institution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JP Morgan Chase's internal tools and platforms
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in securities finance (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure in a financial context
• Prior work in high-frequency trading or real-time data processing systems
