Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of next-generation platforms for JP Morgan Chase's financial services
• Set strategic direction for team output, including architecture decisions, coding standards, and best practices in secure software development
• Foster collaboration across engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure platforms meet regulatory and business requirements
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment, emphasizing scalability and reliability in high-volume trading environments
• Mentor and coach team members to build technical expertise and promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring robust security measures against cyber threats in the financial sector
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies like AI and cloud computing to enhance platform performance and efficiency
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with JP Morgan Chase's global business goals
• Monitor team performance and implement processes to improve delivery speed without compromising quality

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams
• Proven track record in developing scalable platforms in the financial services sector, including experience with cloud-native architectures
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and financial industry standards
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in agile environments, with expertise in DevOps practices
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers while driving technical innovation

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with experience in financial data platforms
• Prior experience at a major financial institution, ideally with knowledge of trading systems or risk management tools
• Familiarity with machine learning applications in fraud detection or algorithmic trading
• MBA or equivalent business acumen to align engineering efforts with financial business objectives

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala for backend development
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Understanding of database systems including SQL and NoSQL (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with financial protocols and APIs for trading and payments
