Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams, providing technical coaching and guidance on Java and COBOL-based projects
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical applications supporting JP Morgan Chase's banking operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives in the financial services domain
• Drive technical innovation, including legacy COBOL system modernization and integration with modern Java microservices
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and risk management protocols in all software deliverables
• Conduct code reviews, architectural assessments, and performance optimizations for high-volume transaction processing systems
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through agile practices and knowledge sharing within the team
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver scalable solutions for global financial platforms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Java and COBOL technologies
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams in a financial services environment
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects in banking or fintech sectors
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR, SOX, and PCI-DSS
• Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in large-scale enterprise systems
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mainframe modernization and legacy system migrations at JP Morgan Chase
• Certification in Java (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) or COBOL-related technologies
