Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of a Search & Indexing product for JP Morgan Chase's next-generation communications compliance platform
• Mentor and manage a team of software engineers, fostering innovation and best practices in Java, Kotlin, Python, and AWS technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, risk, and product stakeholders to ensure alignment with financial regulatory requirements
• Architect scalable, secure, and resilient systems that handle high-volume data processing for global financial communications
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures on AWS to optimize performance and cost in a regulated environment
• Oversee code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain high standards of quality and security
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards like GDPR and SOX
• Contribute to strategic planning for the platform's evolution, integrating emerging technologies for enhanced search functionalities
• Monitor system performance and lead optimization efforts to support real-time indexing needs in financial services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Java, Kotlin, and Python
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams in designing and developing scalable search and indexing solutions
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and Elasticsearch
• Strong understanding of financial services regulations, particularly communications compliance and data privacy (e.g., SEC, FINRA)
• Experience in agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for high-stakes financial applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex, mission-critical systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building search platforms using Elasticsearch or similar technologies in a financial context
• Prior leadership role in a global financial institution, ideally with exposure to compliance platforms
• Knowledge of machine learning integrations for enhanced search capabilities in regulatory environments
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional) and relevant security frameworks

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Python for backend development
• Expertise in AWS services for cloud infrastructure and deployment
• Strong knowledge of search engines like Elasticsearch and indexing techniques
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
