Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams, providing technical coaching and guidance on Python, Spark, and data modeling best practices
• Design and implement scalable data architectures to support JP Morgan Chase's financial analytics and reporting needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including data scientists and business analysts, to define technical requirements for financial products
• Oversee the development and optimization of ETL pipelines using Spark for processing large volumes of transactional and market data
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security standards in all data engineering initiatives
• Drive innovation in data modeling techniques to enhance predictive analytics for risk assessment and fraud detection
• Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality, reliable systems
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and agile methodologies within engineering teams
• Partner with global teams to align on technology roadmaps that support JP Morgan's digital transformation goals
• Monitor and report on project metrics, ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions for financial services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Python and big data technologies
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring technical teams in a financial services environment
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and scalable data pipelines
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and analytics
• Knowledge of financial data systems, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX), and risk management in banking
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment typical of global financial institutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data-intensive applications
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and data visualization tools in a fintech context
• Prior work at a major financial institution, ideally with exposure to investment banking or asset management
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Big Data or Certified Spark Developer
• Advanced degree or publications in data engineering or financial modeling
