The MBS Team is responsible for settling all fails that do not settle Straight-Through Processing (STP) on the market, helping to maintain the integrity and efficiency of our trading activities in fixed income securities. As a Settlement Analyst, you will dive into the complexities of non-STP trade fails, investigating discrepancies and coordinating resolutions with internal teams and external counterparties. Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve settlement fails for MBS trades that do not settle via STP on the market
  • Perform daily reconciliation of trade positions and ensure accurate settlement with counterparties
  • Collaborate with trading, middle office, and compliance teams to mitigate settlement risks
  • Monitor and report on settlement metrics, identifying trends and process improvements
  • Utilize JP Morgan's proprietary systems to process manual settlements and updates
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards for trade lifecycle events
  • Handle escalations for complex fails involving multiple parties or jurisdictions
  • Contribute to team initiatives for enhancing operational efficiency in the MBS space
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all settlement activities
  • Support ad-hoc projects related to trade operations and market data analysis

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services, particularly in trade settlement or operations
  • Strong understanding of Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) and fixed income markets
  • Proficiency in trade lifecycle processes, including settlement and reconciliation
  • Excellent command of English; Spanish proficiency is a plus for the Argentina location
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JP Morgan Chase systems or similar banking platforms
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for securities settlement in international markets
  • Certification in financial operations, such as CFA Level 1 or Operations Professional
  • Prior exposure to non-STP (Straight-Through Processing) trade fails and resolution
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or other market data terminals
