Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial platforms
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure 99.99% uptime
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to automate deployments and optimize application performance in a regulated environment
  • Develop and maintain tools for incident response, including on-call rotations for production systems
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for cloud-based financial services infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations such as SOX, GDPR, and internal security standards
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to open-source projects relevant to SRE practices
  • Analyze system metrics to drive improvements in reliability and efficiency for trading and banking applications
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices for site reliability in a high-stakes financial context

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
