Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's global financial platforms, ensuring 99.99% uptime for trading and transaction systems
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to automate deployments and optimize application performance in cloud-native environments
• Monitor system health, proactively identify bottlenecks, and develop strategies to mitigate risks in high-volume financial operations
• Lead incident response efforts, conducting post-mortems to improve reliability and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR) for critical services
• Implement security measures and compliance controls to protect sensitive financial data against cyber threats
• Drive innovation by adopting SRE best practices, including error budgets and service level objectives (SLOs), tailored to banking workloads
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the evolution of JP Morgan's technology stack for modernizing legacy systems
• Analyze performance metrics and capacity planning to support business growth in areas like digital banking and asset management
• Integrate observability tools to provide real-time insights into system behavior during market volatility
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous availability of core financial services infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a focus on financial services infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven track record in monitoring, alerting, and incident response in high-stakes environments
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to the financial sector, such as PCI-DSS and SOX

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a large-scale financial institution with mission-critical trading or payment systems
• Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional SRE, or similar
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Terraform
• Background in agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration in regulated industries
• Advanced knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk for financial data analytics
