Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's core banking and trading systems to ensure 99.99% uptime
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments and optimize application performance in a cloud-native environment
• Monitor system health, proactively identify bottlenecks, and resolve incidents to minimize downtime in mission-critical financial operations
• Develop and maintain SRE playbooks for incident response, including post-mortem analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Implement observability solutions to track metrics, logs, and traces across distributed systems supporting global financial transactions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by integrating security and audit controls into infrastructure pipelines
• Drive innovation by adopting cutting-edge technologies to modernize legacy systems and enhance scalability for high-frequency trading
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the SRE community within JP Morgan Chase through knowledge sharing and best practices
• Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to support growing transaction volumes in a 24/7 financial ecosystem
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide rapid response to production issues affecting client services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Proven experience in building and maintaining highly available, scalable systems in a financial services environment
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk in mission-critical applications
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to financial institutions (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with a focus on risk management and operational resilience

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with trading systems or payment processing platforms
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution handling high-volume, low-latency transactions
• Master's degree in a technical field or MBA with a technology focus
