Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's core banking and trading platforms
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment processes and ensure zero-downtime releases in a 24/7 financial environment
• Monitor system performance, proactively identify bottlenecks, and optimize for high availability in mission-critical applications
• Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-mortems, and drive improvements to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR)
• Implement security measures and compliance controls to protect sensitive financial data against cyber threats
• Develop and maintain tools for observability, logging, and alerting to support real-time decision-making in global markets
• Contribute to SRE best practices, including SLO/SLI definitions, and foster a culture of reliability across engineering teams
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to modernize legacy systems, migrating to cloud-native architectures while minimizing risk
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotations to ensure robust support for production systems
• Analyze and resolve complex issues in distributed systems, ensuring resilience during peak trading volumes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a focus on financial-grade infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven track record in monitoring, alerting, and incident management in high-stakes environments
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to financial services (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly with mission-critical trading or payment systems
• Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional SRE, or equivalent
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Terraform
• Background in agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration in global settings
• Knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack tailored to financial data integrity
