Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial platforms, ensuring 99.99% uptime for trading and transaction systems
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments and integrate reliability practices into the software development lifecycle
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify bottlenecks using advanced observability tools to prevent disruptions in high-volume financial operations
• Develop and execute disaster recovery plans and conduct chaos engineering experiments to enhance system resilience
• Optimize cloud resources and costs while maintaining security and compliance with regulatory requirements in the banking sector
• Lead root cause analysis for incidents, implementing fixes and preventive measures to minimize future risks
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the SRE community within JP Morgan Chase through knowledge sharing and best practices
• Integrate security practices into infrastructure pipelines to protect sensitive financial data against cyber threats
• Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to align infrastructure strategies with business objectives in areas like capital markets and consumer banking

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a focus on high-availability financial systems
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Experience in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) for mission-critical applications
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with adherence to financial compliance standards such as SOX and PCI-DSS

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with trading, risk management, or payment systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
• Background in incident management and post-mortem analysis for large-scale outages
• Master's degree in a technical field or MBA with a focus on technology management
