Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's core banking and trading platforms to ensure 99.99% uptime
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments and optimize system performance in a microservices architecture
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues in real-time, reducing mean time to resolution for critical financial transactions
• Develop and enhance observability solutions using tools like ELK Stack to provide insights into system health and user impact
• Implement chaos engineering practices to proactively identify and mitigate risks in mission-critical systems
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations by integrating security and audit logging into SRE workflows
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the SRE community's best practices within JP Morgan Chase
• Optimize resource utilization in cloud environments to control costs while supporting high-volume financial workloads
• Participate in on-call rotations to handle incidents affecting global markets and client services
• Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting new technologies to modernize legacy financial systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Proven experience in building and maintaining highly available, scalable systems in a financial services environment
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk in mission-critical applications
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to financial institutions (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC 2)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment handling high-stakes financial systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with trading, risk management, or payment systems
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Master's degree in a technical field or MBA with a focus on technology management
• Prior experience at a large-scale financial institution dealing with regulatory requirements

• Skills in cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS services like EC2, Lambda, and EKS
• Knowledge of security protocols, encryption, and vulnerability management in financial contexts
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing complex system failures
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with a focus on reliability and resilience
• Experience with agile and DevOps practices to accelerate delivery in regulated industries
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git and collaborative tools like Jira
• Understanding of SRE principles from Google's SRE book applied to financial services
