Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's global financial platforms
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments and ensure zero-downtime releases in trading and banking systems
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify bottlenecks to uphold 99.99% uptime for critical financial services
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, conducting post-mortems to improve reliability in high-volume transaction environments
• Implement security measures and conduct audits to protect sensitive financial data against cyber threats
• Optimize cloud resources to reduce costs while maintaining performance for JP Morgan's digital banking initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers on SRE best practices, fostering a culture of reliability within the technology organization
• Integrate observability tools to provide real-time insights into system health for fraud detection and risk management systems
• Contribute to on-call rotations, ensuring rapid resolution of issues impacting customer-facing financial applications
• Drive continuous improvement through error budgets and SLO/SLI definitions tailored to financial service demands

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in financial services environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, ensuring secure and scalable deployments
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex production issues in high-stakes financial systems
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) for maintaining system reliability
• Understanding of security best practices, including compliance with regulations like SOX, PCI-DSS, and GDPR in banking

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional SRE
• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with trading platforms or payment systems
• Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes in a multi-tenant environment
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution, managing SLAs for mission-critical applications
• Master's degree in a technical field or MBA with a focus on technology management

Required Skills

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java for automation scripting
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration and networking fundamentals
• Experience with monitoring stacks including ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API management in financial APIs
• Skills in database management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) for high-throughput financial data
• Familiarity with security tools like IAM, encryption, and vulnerability scanning
• Analytical problem-solving for root cause analysis in complex systems
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with business stakeholders
• Agile methodologies experience, including Scrum or Kanban in tech teams
