Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial platforms, ensuring 99.99% uptime for trading and payment systems
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate reliability practices into the development lifecycle, focusing on mission-critical banking applications
• Monitor and optimize system performance using advanced observability tools, proactively identifying and mitigating risks in high-volume transaction environments
• Lead incident response efforts during outages, conducting post-mortems to enhance system resilience and prevent recurrence in financial operations
• Automate deployment pipelines and infrastructure provisioning to accelerate innovation while adhering to regulatory compliance in the financial services industry
• Develop and maintain SLOs/SLIs for key services, aligning with JP Morgan's commitment to operational excellence in wealth management and corporate banking
• Contribute to chaos engineering experiments to test and improve the fault tolerance of core banking infrastructure
• Mentor junior engineers on SRE best practices, fostering a culture of reliability within JP Morgan Chase's technology organization
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and integrate them to modernize legacy systems supporting global financial markets
• Ensure security and data integrity in all reliability engineering activities, complying with JP Morgan's stringent risk management frameworks

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering roles
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in financial services environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible, applied to high-stakes banking systems
• Demonstrated ability to manage on-call rotations and incident response in 24/7 mission-critical operations
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to the financial sector (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOX)
• Proven track record of automating processes to improve system reliability in large-scale, complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional SRE
• Experience working in agile environments with CI/CD pipelines tailored to financial applications
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk in a banking context
• Prior exposure to Java or Python development for building reliability tools in fintech
• Master's degree in a technical field or MBA with a focus on technology in finance
