Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with agile teams to design and develop secure, scalable mainframe applications for financial services
  • Write, test, and maintain COBOL code for core banking systems handling transactions and data processing
  • Implement and optimize JCL and CICS components to ensure high availability and performance
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for secure software delivery
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production mainframe environments
  • Integrate mainframe systems with modern cloud or hybrid architectures
  • Support data migration and modernization initiatives for legacy financial platforms
  • Document technical solutions and mentor junior engineers on mainframe technologies
  • Ensure compliance with JP Morgan's security standards and financial regulations
  • Contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2-4 years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, and CICS
  • Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative team environments
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices in financial systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment like banking
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship
