Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Blaze Rules Engine applications using Java to support complex business rules in JP Morgan Chase's financial products
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate regulatory and operational requirements into efficient rule sets
  • Implement and optimize decision models for risk assessment, fraud detection, and compliance in banking operations
  • Integrate Blaze with other JP Morgan systems, including core banking platforms and data analytics tools
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues related to the rules engine, minimizing downtime in critical financial processes
  • Contribute to agile sprints, providing technical leadership and mentoring junior developers
  • Stay updated on industry regulations (e.g., Dodd-Frank, Basel III) and incorporate them into rule engine enhancements
  • Document technical specifications and best practices for Blaze implementations within the team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with Java
  • Hands-on experience with Blaze Advisor Rules Engine, including rule modeling and deployment
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining enterprise-level applications in a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances for handling sensitive financial data
