Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of financial data from diverse sources
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security throughout the pipeline lifecycle, adhering to JP Morgan Chase's compliance and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with business analytics teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions that support trading, risk assessment, and customer insights
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency using cloud-native tools in AWS or similar environments
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting mechanisms to maintain high availability of data systems
• Conduct data quality assessments and implement governance practices to mitigate risks in financial reporting
• Integrate machine learning models into data pipelines for advanced analytics in areas like fraud detection and market forecasting
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, fostering best practices in a fast-paced financial technology setting
• Stay updated on emerging data technologies and recommend innovations to enhance JP Morgan's data infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development roles
• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Airflow
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and ensuring data quality and integrity
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly in financial data environments
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or Java for data processing and automation
• Demonstrated ability to work in agile teams and collaborate on complex projects in a regulated industry like finance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services sector, particularly with handling sensitive financial data and compliance standards like GDPR or SOX
• Certification in data engineering (e.g., Google Data Analytics, AWS Certified Data Analytics)
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, or Snowflake
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution, understanding of risk management and fraud detection data flows

• Expertise in Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development
