Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to support business analytics and reporting needs at JP Morgan Chase
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with financial regulations such as GDPR and SOX throughout the data lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements
• Optimize data processing workflows for performance and scalability using tools like Spark and Kafka
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve issues
• Integrate data from diverse sources including internal banking systems and external financial feeds
• Contribute to the development of data architecture strategies aligned with JP Morgan's global technology roadmap
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related problems impacting business operations
• Stay updated on emerging data engineering trends and apply them to improve JP Morgan's analytics capabilities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development roles
• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, or Airflow
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and ensuring data quality and integrity
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP in a financial services context
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or Java for data processing and automation
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in agile teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with regulatory compliance and risk management data
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, or Snowflake
• Certifications in cloud data engineering (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics or Google Professional Data Engineer)
• Prior work at a large-scale financial institution handling sensitive transactional data
• Advanced knowledge of data governance frameworks and security best practices in banking
