Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL databases on AWS to support JP Morgan Chase's financial applications
• Optimize database performance and ensure high availability for mission-critical trading and risk management systems
• Collaborate with agile teams to integrate database solutions into secure, scalable technology products
• Implement data security measures, including encryption and access controls, to comply with financial regulations
• Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent disruptions in financial operations
• Develop and maintain ETL processes for handling large volumes of financial data
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for database engineering within the team
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance JP Morgan's market-leading technology

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in database engineering, with a focus on SQL databases
• Proficiency in AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, and Redshift
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Experience working in agile environments with version control systems like Git
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance standards in financial services
• Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in high-availability environments
