Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize ESX virtualization platforms to support JP Morgan Chase's global financial operations
• Implement automation scripts and tools to enhance reliability, scalability, and performance of virtualization infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot ESX environments to ensure 99.99% uptime for critical banking applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESX with cloud services and legacy systems
• Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for virtualization resources in high-stakes financial environments
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and backup procedures for ESX clusters
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies for data protection in financial services
• Lead engineering initiatives to migrate workloads to virtualized platforms while minimizing operational risks
• Document engineering processes and provide knowledge transfer to team members
• Stay updated on emerging virtualization technologies and recommend innovations for JP Morgan's tech stack

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on virtualization technologies
• Strong proficiency in VMware ESX/ESXi administration and management
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable virtualization environments in a financial services context
• Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure tasks using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
• Knowledge of cloud integration with on-premises virtualization platforms
• Proven track record of ensuring high availability and disaster recovery in mission-critical systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent
• Experience with financial services regulations such as GDPR, SOX, or PCI-DSS compliance in IT infrastructure
• Background in hybrid cloud environments integrating ESX with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure as code
• Prior work at a large financial institution handling high-volume transaction systems
