Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable distributed systems using Java, Kotlin, Python, and Go to support JP Morgan's communications compliance platform
  • Implement and optimize search technologies to enable efficient data retrieval and analysis for regulatory compliance
  • Build and maintain data engineering pipelines on AWS to process large volumes of financial communications data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance experts, data scientists, and product managers to deliver robust solutions
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and performance in a high-stakes financial environment
  • Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain code quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments impacting trading and client communications
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to innovation in search and data engineering for financial services
  • Document technical designs and mentor junior engineers on best practices
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning for platform enhancements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with Java and Kotlin
  • Proficiency in Python and Go for building scalable backend services
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and ECS
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and data engineering principles
  • Experience in search technologies such as Elasticsearch or Apache Solr
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in the financial services sector

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Prior experience in building compliance or regulatory platforms in banking
  • Familiarity with financial regulations like MiFID II or Dodd-Frank
