Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable Java-based applications using Spark for processing large-scale financial datasets
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver secure technology products that support JP Morgan's global trading platforms
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability and compliance with financial regulations
• Optimize data pipelines for real-time analytics in risk assessment and market monitoring
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain code quality and security
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production environments impacting financial operations
• Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance platform capabilities in the financial services ecosystem
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing on best practices in cloud-native development
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements for cost-efficiency in AWS resources
• Ensure adherence to JP Morgan's cybersecurity policies and data privacy standards in all developments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Java
• Strong experience with Apache Spark for big data processing
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, and Lambda
• Experience working in agile methodologies and collaborative teams
• Demonstrated ability to design secure and scalable financial systems
• Knowledge of financial services regulations and data security standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience in developing trading or risk management systems at a major bank
• Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Developer) or Spark
