Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2 to support JPMorgan Chase's global financial operations
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver secure, scalable technology products that enhance market-leading banking services
• Analyze and optimize database structures in DB2 to handle high-volume transaction processing in real-time
• Implement and maintain code for core banking systems, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and security protocols
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in mainframe environments, minimizing downtime for critical financial applications
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for software engineering within the firm
• Integrate mainframe systems with modern technologies to support digital transformation initiatives at JPMorgan Chase
• Mentor junior developers and foster knowledge sharing in a collaborative team setting
• Monitor application performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe application development using COBOL and DB2
• Proven track record in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable financial applications
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams
• Experience with mainframe technologies including JCL, CICS, and VSAM
• Knowledge of financial services regulations and data security standards such as PCI-DSS and SOX
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-volume transaction environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with modernizing mainframe applications to cloud or hybrid environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in a mainframe context
• Previous work in banking or financial services, particularly in core banking systems
• Certifications in IBM mainframe technologies or COBOL/DB2
