Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe-based applications using COBOL, JCL, and related technologies to support JP Morgan Chase's financial systems
  • Collaborate with agile teams to deliver secure and scalable technology products that meet regulatory requirements in the financial services industry
  • Analyze and optimize mainframe code for performance, ensuring high availability for mission-critical banking operations
  • Implement and test enhancements to core banking platforms, integrating with modern distributed systems where necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, and CICS
  • Experience working in agile methodologies and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver secure, scalable technology solutions
  • Knowledge of financial services regulations and data security standards
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe environment and DB2 databases
