Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure for JP Morgan Chase's core banking and trading platforms
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate SRE principles into the software development lifecycle, ensuring high availability and low latency
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify bottlenecks using advanced observability tools to prevent disruptions in financial operations
• Develop and automate incident response procedures, including on-call rotations and post-mortem analyses for mission-critical incidents
• Optimize cloud resources and costs while adhering to security and compliance standards specific to the financial sector
• Drive innovation by modernizing legacy systems with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
• Conduct reliability testing and chaos engineering experiments to enhance system resilience against failures
• Mentor junior engineers on SRE best practices and contribute to internal knowledge sharing within JP Morgan's global engineering community
• Ensure seamless integration with third-party financial APIs and services while maintaining data integrity and security
• Participate in cross-functional projects to support JP Morgan's digital transformation initiatives in Bengaluru

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
• Proven track record in building and maintaining high-availability systems in a financial services environment
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in infrastructure as code
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk, and incident management processes
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in large-scale enterprise settings
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment with excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with mission-critical trading or payment systems
• Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional SRE, or equivalent
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards like GDPR, PCI-DSS, or SOX in financial applications
• Prior experience at a large financial institution like JP Morgan Chase or similar
• Advanced scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Java for SRE tooling

Required Skills

• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or Go for automation and tooling
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Terraform)
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and security protocols
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, ELK Stack, Splunk)
• CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar
• Incident management and root cause analysis skills
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API design
