Key Responsibilities

• Direct multiple technical areas including data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's strategic goals
• Manage the activities of multiple departments, overseeing 50+ engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
• Collaborate across technical domains with teams in risk, compliance, and front-office trading to deliver scalable data solutions
• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms that support real-time financial analytics and reporting
• Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies and AI/ML tools to enhance data processing efficiency in a regulated environment
• Oversee budgeting, vendor management, and resource planning for data engineering projects exceeding $10M annually
• Mentor senior engineering leads and promote best practices in secure coding, data governance, and performance optimization
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in data systems, ensuring compliance with global financial standards
• Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within engineering teams to build high-performing, inclusive groups
• Represent the data engineering function in executive forums, influencing firm-wide technology roadmap

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 8 years in leadership roles managing large-scale data platforms
• Proven track record of directing multiple technical areas in a financial services environment, including data engineering and analytics
• Experience managing cross-functional teams across departments, with a focus on agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Deep knowledge of financial regulations such as GDPR, SOX, and Basel III, and their impact on data systems
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders in risk management, compliance, and business units within a global bank
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting and resource allocation for multi-million-dollar initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or certifications in data science, cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect), or financial technology
• Experience leading data initiatives in high-stakes financial environments, such as trading platforms or risk modeling
• Prior work at a major financial institution, with exposure to proprietary trading or asset management systems
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and their application to financial data processing
• Executive presence with experience presenting to C-suite leaders on technology strategy
