Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of target state architecture across multiple domains in JP Morgan Chase's Payments Technology group, focusing on scalability, security, and innovation
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to align architectural decisions with strategic objectives in global payments processing
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices to ensure robust, compliant systems for high-value financial transactions
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and proof-of-concept evaluations for new payment technologies and integrations
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API-driven ecosystems to modernize legacy payment platforms
• Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence within the Payments Technology team
• Partner with regulatory and compliance teams to incorporate fintech regulations into architectural blueprints
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and performance improvements in payment processing infrastructures
• Contribute to enterprise-wide architecture governance, influencing JP Morgan Chase's broader technology strategy
• Stay abreast of industry trends in digital payments, open banking, and fintech to shape forward-looking roadmaps

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in payments or financial technology domains
• Proven track record in designing scalable, secure architectures for high-volume transaction systems in the financial services industry
• Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements including PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOX for payments processing
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in agile environments within large-scale financial institutions
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders at JP Morgan Chase

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Experience with real-time payment systems like RTP, FedNow, or SWIFT GPI
• Prior work at a major bank or fintech company, ideally with exposure to JP Morgan Chase's technology ecosystem
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Enterprise Architect
• Knowledge of blockchain or distributed ledger technologies for emerging payment innovations
