Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms using Terraform for provisioning secure, scalable environments in AWS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, security experts, and compliance officers to align infrastructure solutions with JP Morgan Chase's financial services objectives
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines to ensure rapid, reliable provisioning of cloud resources while adhering to banking regulations
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of innovation and best practices in cloud engineering
• Identify and mitigate risks in cloud architectures, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and data sovereignty for sensitive financial data
• Integrate monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK stack) to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues in production environments
• Drive the adoption of advanced AWS services to enhance cost-efficiency and scalability for JP Morgan's global trading and banking platforms
• Contribute to strategic planning for cloud migration initiatives, balancing innovation with the stringent security needs of the financial sector
• Document architectures, processes, and configurations to support audit trails and knowledge sharing within the team
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure strategies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud infrastructure and automation
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams in a financial services environment
• Expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, and Lambda for building scalable infrastructures
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) provisioning and management
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and security compliance in regulated industries like banking
• Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration in high-stakes financial projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or fintech, with knowledge of regulatory requirements such as GDPR, SOX, and PCI-DSS
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Terraform Associate
• Background in designing secure, multi-tenant cloud environments for enterprise-scale applications
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes in AWS EKS
• Previous work at a large financial institution, ideally with exposure to trading, risk management, or payment systems

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Terraform for IaC and AWS CloudFormation
• Deep knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM)
• Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automation
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
• Expertise in container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of security best practices including encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch
• Leadership and team management skills for guiding engineering teams
• Excellent problem-solving abilities in complex, high-pressure financial environments
• Communication skills for stakeholder engagement and technical documentation
• Agile and Scrum methodologies for project delivery
• Version control with Git and collaborative development practices
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, load balancing)
