Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coaching to multiple software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in financial technology solutions
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable software systems supporting JP Morgan's core banking, trading, and risk management platforms
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to align technical roadmaps with strategic financial goals
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices for secure coding, performance optimization, and integration with legacy financial systems
• Drive agile processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in high-stakes financial applications, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
• Lead recruitment, performance evaluations, and career development for team members in a diverse, global environment
• Champion the adoption of emerging technologies like AI and blockchain to enhance JP Morgan's competitive edge in fintech
• Monitor and report on team productivity, project milestones, and technical debt to senior leadership
• Foster cross-team collaboration to deliver integrated solutions for client-facing and internal financial services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
• Proven track record of leading technical teams in delivering complex software solutions in the financial services sector
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience managing cross-functional teams
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in secure financial environments
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach engineers on best practices in software development and architecture
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with senior stakeholders in a global banking context

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in developing or leading projects involving trading systems, risk management, or compliance tools at a major financial institution
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, SOX, or Basel III in financial software development
• Advanced certifications in software engineering or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Prior experience at JP Morgan Chase or a similar Tier 1 bank
• Knowledge of machine learning applications in financial analytics

• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++ for backend development in financial systems
• Expertise in microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of database management (SQL/NoSQL) for handling large-scale financial data

• Agile and Scrum methodologies for team leadership
