Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams, providing technical coaching and guidance on Java-based applications and AWS infrastructure
• Design and architect scalable data solutions using AWS services to support financial analytics and reporting for JP Morgan Chase's global operations
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory standards in the financial services sector
• Oversee the development and maintenance of robust ETL pipelines and data processing systems to handle high-volume transactional data
• Drive adoption of best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and security protocols specific to banking environments
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in projects, ensuring alignment with JP Morgan Chase's innovation and risk management goals
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within teams, contributing to the firm's digital transformation initiatives
• Partner with senior stakeholders to define technical roadmaps for data-intensive projects in areas like risk modeling and customer insights
• Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in AWS environments for financial workloads
• Contribute to hiring and talent development strategies to build high-performing engineering teams at JP Morgan Chase

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Java development in large-scale enterprise environments
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams in financial services or similar regulated industries
• Proven expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS for building scalable data solutions
• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark
• Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in a fast-paced financial environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including compliance and risk management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with banking or capital markets applications
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Java-related certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks like GDPR, SOX, or PCI-DSS in data handling
• Background in machine learning or AI integration for financial data analytics
• Prior experience leading migrations to cloud-native architectures at JP Morgan Chase or similar institutions

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Java programming, including Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Expertise in AWS cloud platform (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM)
• Data engineering skills with tools like Apache Kafka, Spark, and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
