As a Subsidiary Banking Associate, you will play a key role in cultivating relationships with Chinese multinational corporations and their UK/EU subsidiaries. Your primary focus will be on delivering bespoke banking solutions, such as structured finance, foreign exchange, and treasury services, while navigating the complexities of bilateral trade relations and regulatory frameworks. You will work closely with senior coverage bankers, product teams, and global markets specialists to originate and execute deals that drive client growth and firm revenue. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture relationships with a portfolio of Chinese corporate clients and their European subsidiaries, focusing on banking needs such as lending, trade finance, and cash management
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the Chinese client portfolio in the EMEA region, leveraging JPMorgan's global network
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product specialists, risk management, and compliance to deliver tailored financial solutions
  • Conduct market analysis and provide strategic advice to clients on navigating UK and EU regulations, geopolitical risks, and economic trends affecting China-Europe trade
  • Prepare and present credit proposals, investment recommendations, and deal structuring for senior management approval
  • Monitor client performance, portfolio risks, and market developments to ensure proactive account management and mitigate potential issues
  • Support senior bankers in client meetings, negotiations, and deal execution, with a focus on high-value transactions
  • Contribute to the development of China-specific coverage strategies, including participation in industry events and thought leadership initiatives
  • Ensure all activities comply with JPMorgan's policies, UK FCA regulations, and international anti-money laundering standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, or financial services, with a focus on cross-border transactions
  • Strong understanding of the Chinese financial market, regulatory environment, and economic landscape
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) and proficiency in English
  • Proven track record in client relationship management and portfolio growth in an international banking context
  • Knowledge of international trade finance, syndicated loans, and capital markets relevant to Asian corporates
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with strict compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or International Business
