You will report to the Head of Payments Sales for Asia-Pacific and collaborate with cross-functional teams to position our offerings, including real-time payments, foreign exchange integration, and liquidity management tools, against competitors in the Japanese financial landscape. Your primary focus will be on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within Japan's evolving payments ecosystem, influenced by digital transformation and regulatory changes from the Financial Services Agency (FSA). Responsibilities include leading the sales process from prospecting to closure, customizing solutions for multinational corporations with subsidiaries in Japan, and ensuring seamless integration with JP Morgan's global network. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of local payment rails like Zengin and international standards such as ISO 20022, combined with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow JP Morgan Chase's subsidiary payments business in Japan
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the corporate and financial sectors
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in payments solutions, including cross-border and domestic transactions
  • Collaborate with product teams to tailor payment offerings to meet client needs in the Tokyo market
  • Conduct market analysis to anticipate trends in payments and advise on competitive positioning
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure and ongoing account management
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal JP Morgan policies in all sales activities
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of sales training programs
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics, contributing to quarterly business reviews
  • Represent JP Morgan Chase at industry events and client meetings to enhance brand visibility

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payments sales or financial services sales within the banking sector
  • Proven track record in managing subsidiary payments relationships and driving revenue growth in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Strong understanding of global payment systems, including SWIFT, SEPA, and local Japanese payment rails
  • Fluency in English and Japanese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in regulatory compliance within the Japanese financial market, including knowledge of FSA guidelines
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for client engagements

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or International Business
  • Prior experience working at a global investment bank like JP Morgan Chase or similar institution
