Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of underwriters in processing correspondent agency mortgage applications, ensuring adherence to JP Morgan Chase's underwriting guidelines and agency standards
  • Oversee the evaluation of loan files for credit risk, collateral, and compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other agency requirements
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy and completeness of underwriting decisions, providing guidance and training to team members
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and compliance teams to streamline processes and mitigate risks in the lending pipeline
  • Conduct quality control reviews of underwriting outputs to maintain high standards and reduce error rates
  • Stay updated on evolving regulatory changes in the Philippine financial sector and global agency lending practices, implementing necessary updates
  • Manage workload distribution and performance metrics for the team to meet service level agreements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in mortgage or correspondent lending within the financial services industry
  • Proven leadership experience in supervising underwriting teams and processes
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance standards, including those from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and local Philippine financial regulations
