Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the valuation processes for specialized products, including derivatives, structured securities, and complex financial instruments
  • Ensure accurate and timely valuation adjustments in compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Collaborate with trading, risk management, and finance teams to validate pricing models and assumptions
  • Perform independent price verification (IPV) and challenge front-office valuations as needed
  • Prepare and review valuation reports for senior management and regulatory submissions
  • Monitor market data and economic indicators to assess impacts on portfolio valuations
  • Implement controls to mitigate valuation risks and enhance process efficiency
  • Support audit processes by providing documentation and explanations for valuation methodologies
  • Contribute to the development of valuation policies and procedures within the Controller division
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging regulations affecting valuations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in valuation, financial reporting, or controller roles within financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, derivatives, and valuation methodologies
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance standards such as IFRS, GAAP, and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's in Finance)
