Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the price verification process for commodities portfolios, ensuring independent validation of fair values against market data and models
  • Collaborate with front office trading, risk management, and product control teams to resolve valuation discrepancies and challenges
  • Develop and implement valuation methodologies, including the use of Bloomberg, Reuters, and proprietary pricing tools
  • Oversee the documentation and governance of valuation adjustments, escalations, and control frameworks
  • Monitor market developments in commodities and assess their impact on portfolio valuations
  • Conduct periodic reviews and stress testing of valuation models to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Mentor and manage a team of valuation analysts, fostering a culture of precision and innovation
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulators to support valuation reporting and audits

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Finance) preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in valuation control, price verification, or independent valuation within commodities trading or financial services
  • Deep knowledge of commodities markets, including energy, metals, and agriculture, with expertise in pricing models and market data sources
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or FRM
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements like IFRS 13, Dodd-Frank, and EMIR for fair value measurements
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams in a high-pressure financial environment
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as those relevant to European markets are advantageous

  • Experience in a Big Four firm or major investment bank with a focus on commodities valuation
