Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Meta Data Management team in overseeing the onboarding, cataloging, and maintenance of metadata for JP Morgan Chase's Operational Risk platforms
• Develop and implement strategies for data governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards in the financial services sector
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, IT, and compliance to integrate metadata solutions into enterprise systems
• Monitor and optimize data quality, lineage, and accessibility to support operational risk reporting and analytics
• Drive initiatives for metadata standardization across global platforms, mitigating risks associated with data silos
• Mentor and manage a team of data specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
• Conduct regular audits and assessments of metadata processes to identify and resolve potential control gaps
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align metadata management with broader business objectives at JP Morgan Chase
• Implement advanced tools and technologies to enhance metadata automation and efficiency in operational workflows

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data management, metadata governance, or operational risk systems within the financial services industry
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in data onboarding and maintenance for enterprise platforms
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and data privacy standards like GDPR
• Experience with data lineage tools and metadata repositories in a banking environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex data ecosystems in high-stakes financial operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent
• Prior experience at a global financial institution like JP Morgan Chase, with exposure to operational risk controls
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices in data management
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure in a financial context

Required Skills

• Expertise in metadata management tools like Collibra, Alation, or Informatica
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java for data querying and scripting
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and operational risk controls in banking
• Experience with data lineage and impact analysis in financial systems
• Leadership and team management skills for guiding diverse, global teams
• Analytical problem-solving abilities to address complex data challenges
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in financial services (e.g., SOX, CCAR)
• Project management skills using tools like Jira or Microsoft Project
• Understanding of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
