Job Description

Job Summary:

This individual contributor is primarily responsible for assisting with Union relations activities and initiatives and assisting with the negotiation, implementation, and administration of collective bargaining and labor agreements.

This position assists with the development and implementation of the Regions and National Labor Relations strategy and assists with case candling and resolution of grievances.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Pursues self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information, and knowledge with coworkers and customers; listening, responding to, and seeking performance feedback; acknowledging strengths and weaknesses; assessing and responding to the needs of others; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

  • Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date knowledge in subject area to meet deadlines; following procedures and policies and applying data, and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating with others, often cross-functionally, to solve business problems; supporting the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicating progress and information; identifying and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities when possible; and escalating issues or risks as appropriate.

  • Assists with Union relations activities and initiatives by gathering data for reports; coordinating committee activities; supporting the implementation of labor relations plans; gathering information for impact bargaining resulting from the effect of business decisions on terms and conditions of employment or negotiated provisions.

  • Assists with the negotiation, implementation, and administration of collective bargaining and labor agreements by gathering data and preparing information for management; collecting information on industrial labor relations programs; conducting basic analysis; gathering information for proposals and reports; coordinating training for management negotiating teams; compiling and researching negotiation data, such as surveys and costing materials; and assisting in the management of labor job actions (i.e., work stoppages, picketing, leafleting).

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the Regions and National Labor Relations strategy by researching federal and state laws, including the National Labor Relations Act; raising concerns when misalignment between plans and strategy exists; and educating stakeholders on overall strategy/approach.

  • Assists with case handling and resolution of grievances by collecting and analyzing data; minimizing liability; responding to union/management issues; gathering information for legal counsel during arbitration/mediation; and drafting recommendations for remedies.
