In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for leading KP legal advice to senior leaders on compliance with highly dynamic, technical and complex federal and state laws and regulations in a constantly evolving industry landscape; developing legal strategy for support of significant KP strategic initiatives; directing legal support of the completion of government submissions; directing and/or advising on high priority internal investigations; fostering collaborative relationships among senior leaders and stakeholders to advance Kaiser Permanente's mission; and providing strategic insights regarding federal and state statutes and regulations affecting health care delivery operations. Preferred qualifications include: care delivery experience ranging from hospital to post-acute and ambulatory settings; ability to advise on strategic and innovative services and business models; and familiarity with interpretation and application of statutes and rules implemented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and its sub-agencies, including but not limited to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and/or the Food and Drug Administration.
