Position Summary

As a Compliance Officer - Consumer Complaints within KeyBank's second line of defense Compliance Risk Management (CRM) function, you will play a pivotal role in executing a robust complaints program. Part of the Fair and Responsible Banking (FARB) team, this mid-level position involves testing, monitoring, and oversight of consumer complaints to reinforce risk awareness and compliance culture. Collaborate across three lines of defense, partner with lines of business (LOB), and ensure fiduciary oversight while promoting proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently assess risks and issues in the Complaints Program, engaging LOB to identify risks and monitor remediation.
  • Develop bank-wide oversight focusing on identifying, measuring, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting complaint data.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to evaluate controls, identify gaps, and provide actionable insights.
  • Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry best practices; recommend process improvements for regulatory compliance.
  • Support review of complaints, policies, training, issues management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Document testing results, escalate risks, and maintain strong relationships with business units, management, and Audit.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; CRCM certification a plus.
  • 3+ years of compliance experience, preferably in complaints, with strong regulatory knowledge.
  • Proficiency in internal controls, testing, monitoring, and analytics.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate with lines of business on risk identification and remediation
  • Support regulatory exams and internal audits
